So far so good, We’ll be premiering Brainwashed Love in early October of 2010. We’re very excited to show our very first feature film. You won’t want to miss the premiere it’s going to be fun. We’re going to try to invite as many people as we can so even if you don’t know us please contact us, you’re invited. We’ll start submitting to film festivals in mid to late June and we should start hearing back by late summer/ early fall.

We’re very close to finishing Brainwashed Love. It’s very exciting. What will we do after we finish? Well the main thing will be promoting Brainwashed Love and getting it seen. I also have a few short films I never fully completed so thats the next step. Meanwhile we’ll be promoting and booking as many screenings as possible for Brainwashed Love. And once we get that into place we’ll start talking about the next feature film, The Machine.

There is still plenty of technical work to be done on Brainwashed Love like color correction, music and sound design. Everything took a little longer than we had wanted but we are very glad we are taking the time to make Brainwashed Love as good as we possibly can :)

My first Feature film.

Finally the Brainwashed Love Teaser Trailer is completed. Brainwashed Love is the first feature film of Shawn Bannon & Alix Large. I’m happy to present to you the first trailer for Brainwashed Love. I edited the trailer myself (Shawn Bannon) and considering I used to edit trailers for a living I just kept thinking to myself over and over again that I could do whatever I wanted with the Brainwashed Love trailer. So my goal was to have it represent the movie faithfully but to have fun with it at the same time. After watching the trailer you can tell if Brainwashed Love is your cup of tea. Please enjoy.

Brainwashed Love will premiere in early 2010.

Our Key stops along the way were Flagstaff Arizona, Albuquerque New Mexico, Oklahoma City, Memphis Tennessee, Nashville Tennessee, Louisville Kentucky, Columbus Ohio, Bethlehem Pennsylvania, Millburn New Jersey, New York City, Brooklyn, then on the way back it was Washington D.C., Harrisonburg Virginia, Asheville North Carolina, Atlanta Georgia, Jackson Mississippi, Dallas Texas, Austin Texas, *El Paso Texas (*unplanned) Phoenix Arizona then back to Los Angeles. It was an insanely fun time and we didn’t run into much trouble until our last two days when the fuel pump stopped working on the car in the middle of nowhere Texas. Most of the trip we just searched out the coolest and best vegan restaurants and cafes, we had the best time, we discovered some really cool hang outs in some of the most unlikely places. This cool snap of Alix is outside of Graceland in Memphis Tennessee. We then hit up Columbus Ohio where I grew up and had a blast with a bunch of friends at Circus which has insane vegan pizza, “The Crow” with awesome cashew cheese Wow! The Crow is the most unique and interesting pizza I have had. And of course it is Super Yummy.

It’s December 23rd and were having too much fun with friends in Columbus Ohio. I wanna hang out more but we have to make it to Millburn New Jersey by dinner time on Christmas Eve.

But of course we have to stop at Vegan treats in Pennsylvania along the way. Vegan Treats is amazing and our favorite bakery in the world. What did we get? Vegan donuts, confetti cake, three different cheesecakes, brownies, yum. Oh we also got some new Vegan Treats hoodies. Well luckily we made it to New Jersey in time for dinner with one hour to spare.
Pretty much my entire family lives in NJ, NY or PA so thats where we were around Christmas. Christmas Day we spent with my grandmother my brother and sisters, cousins and aunt and I can't believe we found one of my favorite new vegan restaurants in the tiny town I was born in more on that another day. Several days later we headed to Asheville, North Carolina to reunite with Kyle and Jannatha. Asheville was quite a surprise, it was Alix and my first time visiting and it’s a pretty cool city. We had an awesome time at checking out the Biltmore, getting local brews and eating some insane vegan pizza.

We toured the Biltmore which was quite an experience. It’s still the largest home in the United States its around 170,000 square feet. We then headed to Jackson Mississippi to stay with John at Fox Hollow, it was quite a treat.

New Years we spent in Austin Texas, this was my first time to Austin and I was just blown away by how awesome it is.

Mmm... Vegan waffles. Whole foods was started in Austin and there are so many vegan and vegan friendly places in Austin and they’re so good.
On the road again... But not for too long. Ut oh more cows.A sad state of affairs when the Jetta wagons fuel pump decided to stop working in one of the most desolate areas on the I-10 in Texas. We had to get towed 50 miles to the nearest town and they hit the fuel pump with a brick to get the car running again. We continued hitting the fuel pump on the shoulder of the free way for approximately 400 miles to El Paso where we could actually get the car serviced. So we would be driving along and all of a sudden the car would lose all power we put on the hazard lights pull over to the side of the road Kyle would jump out and get under the car with a huge rock and hit the fuel pump until the car would start. how many times did we have to pull over? Sometimes the car could make 20 miles but mostly this happened every 5 miles and we drove like this for 400 miles. It was a long day.
To make a long story short we had an awesome time and we finally made it back to Los Angeles.

This event is organized to raise donations for Brain Cancer Research. All of the proceeds will be donated to the local charity, City of Hope, to find a cure for this devastating disease.

It was quite shocking for me to hear about this event for an endless amount of reasons. First off I love zombies and on a more serious note in 2005 my mother who was 54 died from Brain Cancer and in 2008 my cousin who was 23 died from cancer as well. I wholeheartedly thank Jill and Dani for organizing Zombiethon. When death of the people you love hits you that hard you want to do anything to make a difference. Going to Zombiethon and relating to like minded people, raising awareness and funds for charities is very, very cool. On top of all that Alix and I coincidentally have a similar zombie themed fundraiser in our movie Brainwashed Love.

I love all the crafty goodie bags and prizes at Zombiethon. I was fortunate enough to win first place in the costume contest and the prizes were very thoughtful and well prepared. There are cute brain logos silkscreened on all the bags and cool silkscreened brain patches. I’m so excited I won a Zombiethon t-shirt. Anyways I could go on and on it was super awesome I hope you come out next year.
That being said I am doing the website myself and keeping myself as busy as possible during post production of Brainwashed Love. How is Brainwashed Love going? Very well, Ally Garrett is doing a fantastic job with the edit and we still have a few shots to get over the next few weeks to tie the entire picture together. From there we will be focusing on sound design and tying all the final music with the picture. P.S. we still need to get more songs together for the movie, if we haven’t talked yet and you wanna talk about doing music for the movie contact me asap. studiodrome@gmail.com

Shawn Bannon
